Reed and Squeak are proud to offer this fantastic Royal Global “Firebird” Bass Clarinet to low C. This instrument is the first Bass Clarinet in the Royal Global range to be offered for sale here in the UK. We hope to offer more Royal Global products in the future. These instruments represent fantastic value for money and are a refreshing alternative to the popular brands that usually dominate the Bass Clarinet market.

This “Firebird” model is an absolute pleasure to play. The sound is rich, dark, and resonant and offers great fluidity throughout the registers. The keywork is extremely strong and secure and reacts perfectly under the fingers with comfortable ergonomics. The white leather pads seal perfectly and intonation is excellent in all registers.

The low notes feel extremely strong and resonant. The wooden bell certainly improves the lower resonance and the lower register projects with barely any effort. Low D can be played with RH, LH or thumb. Low C and C sharp with the thumb.

The crook is made of very heavy metal and comes with a fantastic wooden resonator which appears to make a huge difference over the resonance of a traditional metal crook. The crook is tunable and has an adjustable corked sleeve. The wooden resonator covers the sleeve adding additional depth and resonance to the sound.

Comes with two spikes with rubber balls attached (50cm and 25cm) for sitting and standing. The original “Firebird” case with backpack straps. This may be upgraded to a Reed and Squeak case by separate negotiation. No mouthpiece. We can supply a mouthpiece if necessary by separate negotiation.
