176C Classical D Clarinet Made by Brian Ackerman

This is an historic reconstruction by Master Instrument maker Brian Ackerman of an early 18th Century boxwood clarinet in D. Modelled on an original Zencker instrument from about 1730.

Originally made by hand in the 1980’s with 2 brass keys and extended by Brian with a third key. It has its original (very small) mouthpiece, plus a custom mouthpiece made by Brian which fits modern Eb reeds.

Tuned to A=415.
