212C Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone
212C Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone
Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone in pristine original condition.
This Selmer Mark VI Saxophone is in truly incredible condition and plays exceptionally well. Barely a scratch anywhere. The lacquer on the body is at 100%. There is very slight wear showing on one or two of the keys but in general this instrument is like new. The engraved bell shows no pitting and no scratches. All the leather pads with resonators seal perfectly. It’s extremely rare to find an instrument like this in such wonderful condition. Original hard case. No mouthpiece.
Owned from new by Big Band leader and Birmingham jazz legend Phil Philips, this saxophone has had limited playing use over the years. This is evident by the condition shown in the photos. Mainly used as a spare instrument. All pads, corks, and springs have been checked over and replaced where necessary. Slight pitting on the outside of the bottom bow and some small scratches on the neck near the cork. Apart from these small imperfections this is a stunning example of one of the best saxophones ever made. High F# Key. Dated around 1972.
