160C Buffet "Festival" Bb

£2,550.00

Beautiful Buffet “Festival” Bb clarinet.

Silver plated and re-padded by Eddie Ashton, the masterful and experienced instrument technician and inventor of “Superpads”- the pad choice of many leading professional players around the world. This really is a superb instrument. 65mm barrel.

This really is a wonderful instrument. Ideal for advanced and professional players. Lovely sound, and fantastic wood with no cracks. Silver-plated keys with virtually no wear. The intonation is excellent. Fixed thumb rests and LH Eb key. 65mm barrel. Matching serial numbers on both joints. The clarinet dates to around the mid-1990s when the Buffet factory was producing some of the finest clarinets ever made. Played professionally for a number of years in numerous UK Orchestras and ensembles. The current owner has recently changed to Selmer MUSE clarinets and has now reluctantly decided to part with this superb Buffet instrument. Please note that this instrument does not come with a mouthpiece.

A new Buffet “Festival” Bb costs in the region of £4000.

The Buffet website states: The Buffet Festival clarinet had its debut in 1987 as the collaborative design of three renowned French clarinettists: Michel Arrignon, Jacques Lancelot and Guy Deplus. The instrument’s bore is based on the R13 design but with the added “French” register tube for more precise tuning. It is rightly one of Buffet’s most popular models and is played by orchestral musicians, soloists, teachers and students worldwide.
