Buffet RC "Prestige" Bass Clarinet. Range to Low C.

Polished silver-plated keys with the original Buffet RC white leather pads. This instrument is an absolute pleasure to play. The warm, rich sound of the superb quality wood really sings out. The wood shows no cracks and the silver-plated keys are absolutely immaculate with barely a scratch or mark. The Low C tone hole is on the lower joint rather than the bell. This gives a wonderful mellow sound to the notes in the lower register. All pads seal well and the instrument plays well in all registers.

The neck has a comfortable angle and has the benefit of a tuning slide at the mouthpiece end, and also a plug to discard any excess moisture or condensation that collects inside.

Very free blowing with superb intonation and a beautiful legato sound. This clarinet has been extremely well cared for over the years and really is a fabulous instrument.

Low C and C sharp are played with the RH thumb key. Low D is played with the LH, and Low Eb with the RH. This is a Buffet Low C model that dates around 1995. Highly sought after with the Low C on the lower joint.

Supplied in a new Reed and Squeak “Red Stripe” case with backpack straps.
