Leblanc Basset Clarinet in A. Range to low C.
Very rare and extremely collectable, this Leblanc Basset Clarinet in A plays extremely well throughout the registers. Leather pads, which all seal well and nickel-silver keywork which feels very solid and responds well under the fingers. The quality of the wood is fantastic. The extremely dense wood has a rich, dark character and the wood shows no cracks or imperfections.
Low C, C# and D are played with the RH thumb.
The instruments plays well with good intonation and a rich dark tone.
The original bell has the addition of a spike holder so that the instrument can be supported from the ground. A replacement bell is also included incase the player wishes to perform standing. A sling ring is present above the thumb rest. A wooden thumb piece has been added in order that the low notes can be reached more efficiently.
Plays with a regular French bore mouthpiece (not included).
Reed and Squeak Basset Clarinet case included.
