Fantastic Selmer 10G Clarinet in A

Amazing condition with silver plated keys and leather pads. The clarinet plays perfectly and is ideal for any amateur or top professional. Two barrels and the original Selmer double case included. No mouthpiece. The owner purchased this fabulous instrument new in the 1990’s when studying with Victoria Soames-Samick.

The Selmer Series 10G is a superbly made professional model clarinet made in France by one of the world's most respected instrument manufacturers. The G stands for Gigliotti, who once played principal clarinet for the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra. In his time the Buffet R13 was the instrument of choice for most professionals, but Gigliotti became frustrated with its shortcomings so moved to Selmer. The result was the Series 10G, an improved and "Americanised" R13, with a warmer sound and better intonation. It's hugely popular amongst professional clarinetists, particularly jazz players for its broad sound which is made possible by the large bore.
